Licensed Psychologist William Young serves Samaritan Counseling Center in Punxsutawney, PA where he also resides with his wife Janice and their children. Throughout his career, William has empowered people to overcome the adversities of mental disorders, life crises and marital/couples issues. He earned his BA Degree in Psychology and his MA Degree in Counseling Services from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
While he chose psychology as a career to satisfy his curiosity about the mysteries of the human psyche, William came to discover the critical importance that our spiritual nature adds to our limiting concepts of the body and mind. As a follower of the Christian faith, William has experienced the power of God in his own life as well as in the lives of those he has treated. William attests: Clients have testified that they gained peace, comfort in their tribulations, faith in prayer, courage, hope, improved relationships and improved life-coping.
In addition to practicing psychotherapy, William has consulted to physicians, businesses, attorneys, schools and various social services. Williams affiliations with professional organizations include (but are not limited to): The American Psychological Association, The American Association of Christian Counselors, The Pennsylvania Psychological Association and the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming International Association.
