Susan Young, LPC, NCC, CEAP, is Samaritans Clinical Director. A Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Employee Assistance Professional, Susan is responsible for supervising our team of therapists and providing development and oversight of Samaritans clinical operations. She also maintains her own client caseload.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Susan brings
Samaritan strong leadership, consultation, mediation and communication skills. Before
joining our leadership team, Susan served as a Senior Account Manager for LifeSolutions where she managed the
Employee Assistance Program for 51 organizations in the Erie, PA region.
Previously, she served as the Director of the Northwest Beacon Group, a subsidiary of Safe Harbor Behavioral Health. Prior to her promotion to Director, she was an Employee Assistance Program Counselor.
Susan provided individual and group therapy to adults and families with serious mental illness at Safe Harbor Behavioral Health. She also facilitated a utilization review process for therapy services collaboratively with psychiatrists and nursing staff, and helped develop counseling services for HIV positive individuals.
Susan earned her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Gannon University in Erie, PA and a Bachelors Degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, CA. She is a member of the Employee Assistance Professional Association.
