“Over the years I have heard people say, ‘I regret that I waited so long to come to counseling.’ I say, ‘there is no need to suffer in silence.’” – Carla Sandy

Carla believes “when people struggle with life's challenges alone, they usually have little success.” We agree—this solitary method often results in a deep sense of hopelessness and unhappiness. At Samaritan, Carla works with men, women and adolescents to make their lives more fulfilling. During counseling sessions, she fosters a safe environment for her clients while partnering with them through their journey to healing.

A Licensed Social Worker, Carla received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She attended Boston College for her undergraduate studies and also earned her Master of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Additionally, Carla attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland for advanced training in this person-centered awareness therapy.

Prior to coming to Samaritan, Carla worked at St. Francis Outpatient Treatment Program and also as a group therapist at Carlow College.

From our Bakerstown office, Carla counsels those experiencing: depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, eating disorders, addiction, grief, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), family, parenting and marital problems and other life crises.
