A U.S. Airways retiree, Bill served as a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Quality Assurance Auditor. He spent over two decades traveling throughout the United States and other countries. Today, he devotes his time to volunteering at the Villa St. Joseph in Baden. He and his wife Carol reside in Sewickley.
ITALIAN WEDDING COOKIES
1 Cup Butter
2 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
1/3 Cup Sugar
1 Tablespoon Water
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Cup Finely Chopped Nuts
(Walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans or almonds)
Beat butter with mixer on medium speed until butter is soft. Add about one half of the flour, one third of the sugar, water and vanilla. Beat until combined.
Stir in remaining flour. Add nuts and stir.
Shape approximately two teaspoons of dough into a ball. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet about an inch apart.
Bake at 325◦ for about 20 minutes or until bottoms of cookies are lightly browned. Cool on rack, and then roll each cookie in powdered sugar. ENJOY!
