In addition to providing counseling and program services, the Samaritan Counseling Center also serves as a training facility for graduate students in the mental health field. Unpaid internships provide opportunities for students who qualify to acquire the number of hours mandated for course work as well as “real life” experience as clinicians. Interns learn practical applications, develop their professional skills and gain insight as to how a counseling center functions from a “big picture” perspective.
Those interested in an internship must engage in an interview process with our Clinical Director prior to being accepted. Once accepted, interns are trained to perform a variety of duties. These include:
Additionally, interns must be willing to travel to our multiple sites; provide assistance, as needed, to our Director of Development and Marketing; and perform office/clerical duties as assigned by our Office Manager.
If you are interested in applying for an internship at Samaritan, please email a cover letter and résumé to firstname.lastname@example.org.
